The work is not a commodity

Firstly HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Every time I re-awake from the torpor in which they have fallen in recent months, in which I pass by the "fugitive", the "careless" and motions of pride precarious lead me to think about this blog so much forgotten.

But notice the excuses, here is the post today. Post I want to devote to a book, I have not read it yet but I was intrigued by the review and probably read it soon.

The book in question is "Work is not 'a commodity" the sociologist Luciano Gallino. A biography can be found this link , or in this . While a review of the book is in the site Unilibro.it .

The subtitle of the book is "Against the flexibility," by virtue of such richiestaci EU , OECD, International Monetary Fund (IMF ), politicians, economists and, of course, entrepreneurs. Strange though, that cries out for flexibility to be who she really is not very flexible ...

Gallino to assert his thesis, resumes Declaration of Philadelphia (1944) 's International Labour Organisation. According to Gallino the people involved in work "Flexible" for various reasons are actually between 10 and 11 million. Flexibility for the vast majority of tax suffered, and not by choice.

Personally I read the book review on an article by Lelio Demichelis ("Flexibility is a virtue, but not for all", "La Stampa " 1/12/2008), in which the journalist outlines the main steps Gallino's book.

Gallino says that flexibility makes (and wants to put more and more) competing 500 million workers in the West (which are gradually losing their rights), with 1.5 billion new workers (in China and India first), in which the rights and wages are minimal. Porta aware of a statistic "disturbing" as well known, namely that 55% of goods exported to the West from China are manufactured on behalf of Western companies! The second solution

chickens? Eliminate the causes of "flexibility" with a "comprehensive labor policy." To those who accuse him of "regret the past," Demichelis (and I concur), points out that nothing is further from the truth, unless one were to consider the political, social and civilli as a useless thing of the past.

A final pebble I want to take away ... Please gentiles entrepreneurs (or representatives) to stop saying that businesses are the engine of Italy: be more accurate, at least, the engine of Italy are the exploited workers.

soon!
